Wild 03:25
This gate is made of light through leaves Wild in me I free myself open this gate Wild in me A boy lives here who is not safe Wild in me Lives in this home that’s stayed the same Wild in me And though I have a life and love The wild unchanged since I grew up My canticle, my pulse, my breath Wild in me No words to speak I pass as rain Wild in me Mechanical, he eats his shame Wild in me But in the ground he’s lost his place Wild in me The house foreclosed The mom passed on But here I find a part was gone This gate is made from light through leaves Wild in me

Born with crackling leaves Valves unmoving steam Never safety’s grasp Double resewn clasp And the wind ain’t blowing the sheets out on the line And the fire ain’t getting the wind too hard to find Most of us are sung in the key of discontent, we’re each a million dollars unspent Most of us are found in the bin of scratch and dent, we’re each a million dollars unspent Left her in a squall Took a whole damned wall Water rushing in Lived with tide at chin And the mailman knows that the mom knows what she did But the dad makes sure that no letters reach the kid Most of us are sung in the key of discontent, we’re each a million dollars unspent Most of us are found in the bin of scratch and dent, we’re each a million dollars unspent

Chapter 7 04:06
There she was growing stars alone in the night sky The universe was callous to her And the bright of her work transferred into starlight She gave them fire and guided them and I believe in love because of her It’s the morning she lost it, and her marriage had cost it Her three boys didn’t get it but she just lost all her credit They let her keep the TV, but what of dignity In the house just before dawn she doesn’t feel much like a mom she Sips her coffee so quiet crying softly and private And the time spent soft inside her is the self care of a fighter They wake up she composes, one door opens one closes And suddenly she is still here, lets her motherhood fill her And I believe in love because of her She was bright coral reef a haven to many Intricate on the ocean floor and And they found shelter in her oath of protection Dignified in the strength she gave and I believe in love because of her It’s the day she decided that she just couldn’t right it Her house was so far under that the bastards had sunk her Though her goodness meant good friends, her compassion could not be spent Outside of these walls she wasn’t nearly as wealthy and What is she to her debtors, just the slack they abet her And it doesn’t feel like greed to get your family what you need to, she Flicks the light in the hallway pictures them as kids always And suddenly she’s still here, lets her motherhood fill her And i believe in love because of her.

Renew 03:41
We draw what we need from the river we rain in and We hunt what we need from the forest we shine in and We eat what we need from the fields that we sow in and We pick what we need from the garden we grow in and I make this world with you Sustained and cycling through With growth and death renew With growth and death renew Wake up to ourselves like a weather report We dress for the day in the light of the morning We walk through a valley where the wind blows our curtains in We pour out a stream of discussion and swim towards us I make this world with you Sustained and cycling through With growth and death renew With growth and death renew Ghost in the garden we see you, we turn towards you Excise the fallow we mulch what we keep Ghost in the forest we see you, we run towards you Forage the soil we take what we need I make this world with you Sustained and cycling through With growth and death renew With growth and death renew

Home 02:54
I have found my home in the middle of friends that shine like gold folks of justice I tried to find my own way tried to build my morals from truth Tried to listen patient and tried to give others my use All my life I have lived in the people I loved Held in heart and made whole by their honor and trust I have found my home in the middle of friends that shine like gold folks of justice I tried to find my own way tried to build my morals from truth Tried to listen patient and tried to give others my use Never travelled far never wanted to, looked around myself saw the magnitude Folks have depth like cities alleyways and districts of self Complicated simply by the act of being someone else All my life I have lived in the people I loved Held in heart and made whole by their honor and trust I have found the home they have given me I live inside them and they live in me
